  1. Primary Responibilities
  • Create and modify design of springs and related components to customer specifications
  • Manage all related development activities through validation and launch
  • Establish and maintain all relevant engineering documentation and schedules for each project
  • Coordinate with NHK test labs in Japan and USA to accomplish required approval testing
  • Prepare reports and presentations for customers
  • Meet with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to transfer information and solve problems
  • Assist our plants in solving production and quality issues
  • Show understanding of spring design work flow in conjunction with design theories and manufacturing processes
  • Provide immediate response to team members to prevent countermeasure work delays
  • Seek and develop improvement opportunities
  • Develop personal expertise in various engineering technologies and maintain working knowledge of new technologies
  • Maintain a clean and organized office and workspace
  • Other duties as assigned
  1. Necessary Competence
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Automotive product development and project management
  • Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA and other engineering tools
  • Metallography
  • Drafting theory
  • CAD (Catia 3D model, 2D drawings)
  • FEA analysis
  • ISO9001/TS16949 Quality Management Systems

  • Spring design
  • Spring manufacturing
  • Testing of springs
  • Vehicle suspension
  1. Language
  • Fluent German
  • Business level English
  • French (would be helpful)
  • Japanese (would be helpful)
